Walk to End Alzheimer’s is on Saturday, October 8th at Town Square!
By participating in the walk, your fundraising or donation dollars will go to research toward treatment, prevention, and ultimately one day, a cure. It also helps increase the level of Alzheimer’s awareness in our Las Vegas community. Alzheimer’s disease is a type of dementia. It is a disease that destroys memory and other important mental functions. There is no cure for Alzheimer’s disease, but treatment may help. Alzheimer’s disease is the sixth-leading cause of death in the United States and more than 5 million Americans are living with it. In the United States alone someone develops Alzheimer’s every 66 seconds. All the funds raised from the event goes to the Alzheimer’s Association to further the care, support, and research for Alzheimer’s disease.
“Take the first step to a world without Alzheimer’s”.

CompassionCare Hospice of Las Vegas is holding a balance clinic for the residents at Atria Sutton Assisted Living on August 17.
Having good balance means being able to control and maintain your body’s position while you are moving or remaining still. The part of the inner ear responsible for balance is the vestibular system. Good balance is important to help you get around, stay independent, and carry out daily activities. Independence is a big thing for seniors. Balance problems are among the most common reasons that older adults seek help from a doctor. As you get older, many people experience problems with their sense of balance.
