National Hospice & Palliative Care Month Interview With Community Education Nurse Julie

Last but not least we interviewed our very own Community Education Nurse. You may have seen Julie on quite a few of our other hospice education videos. She is truly a special person who is dedicated to bringing truth and knowledge to the Southern Nevada community. We appreciate everyone who viewed our National Hospice & Palliative Care Month featured interviews. Please let us know what you think about our videos and we hope everyone has a Happy Holiday season.
22 Warriors Foundation Event

November 7 is when 22 Warriors Foundation will be holding their 2nd annual HCC “Chipping In For Vets” at the Chimera Golf Course from 7:30 am to 2 pm. CompassionCare Hospice will be sponsoring a tee box in in support and honor of OUR Veterans on Veteran’s Day. 22 Veterans lose their battle to stay alive every single day. That number is probably more like 35 Veterans if you include older Veterans. This is not acceptable. Suicide is the military’s leading cause of death. Come out and play some golf and support some great organizations. 22 Warriors Foundation is committed to addressing the issues that lie behind suicides, high risk behaviors, untreated mental illness, and lack of available resources. 22 Warrior Foundation is excited and determined to make a difference in the lives of OUR Veterans and their families.

Interview With Monica Our Quapi Specialist

In support of National Hospice and Palliative Care Month we had a chance to sit down with a few of the team members here at CompassionCare Hospice of Las Vegas,Nevada. Our intent was to gain insight into hospice and the amazing people who work in this field. We also wanted to address some of the common misconceptions associated with hospice and palliative care. We believe that we can truly change peoples perceptions through education and knowledge of what our team does for individuals and their families. We urge you to share this video with as many people as possible.

By participating in the walk, the CompassionCare Hospice team helped to raise donation dollars that went to the research of Alzheimer’s treatment, prevention, and ultimately one day, a cure. It also helped increase the level of Alzheimer’s awareness in our Las Vegas community. Alzheimer’s disease is a type of dementia. It is a disease that destroys memory and other important mental functions. There is no cure for Alzheimer’s disease, but treatment may help. Alzheimer’s disease is the sixth-leading cause of death in the United States and more than 5 million Americans are living with it. In the United States alone someone develops Alzheimer’s every 66 seconds. All the funds raised from the event goes to the Alzheimer’s Association to further the care, support, and research for Alzheimer’s disease.
